Create 2 shortcuts in the Start-Menu. Thats it. Function: cryptfile: Start it, choose a file that you want to crypt, put in your password. Then if it works, it will ask you to delete the original File. decryptfile: Start it and choose a *.des File to decrypt. Put in the Password. Then the Program will ask you if you want to delete the encrypted file. desauto: (Not in PC-Version) If registered you dont need to start it allone (but you can). It will be started if you double tap on a DES-File and will ask you for the Password for that file, will decrypt it, open the decrypted file with the associated file and wait until you finished viewing/editing. After you closed the associated program. If you have nothing changed it will simply delete the decrypted file. If you have something changed it will ask you if you want this changes to be crypted. If you press yes, the crypted file will be overwritten. If you press NO the non-crypted file will be deleted (CHANGES WILL BE LOST!!!) History: 29.03.1998 -Password Input twice in encrypt program to prevent invalid passwords and in that case loose of data -About-Boxes with Version Information. There is no Version Info like NT and Win 95 because it uses about 1KB of space and cannot be read on the WinCE Platform 11.09.1998 -Fixed some major bugs (Windows CE is really different :-(((( -Fixed errors, with windows staying behind explorer -Made a PC-Version (sorry just a build, same as CE Version, had no time to use any PC-Functions :-((((, but it is nice to port some crypted files! You can crypt/decrypt any files which were crypted/decrypted on the CE! 01.10.1998 -Added desauto (beta) 08.12.1998 -Fixed a major bug using desauto in Windows CE2, as you can see, Win CE 1 and 2 are differnet :-(((( I hope this version will also work on CE1, I cant test it anymore, because I have a CE2 machine now :-((( -Version is now 0.9f -Full installation Support thru cab-File for Windows CE Machines Full uninstall-support 11.04.1999 -Added Requester which shows that descrypt is working and how much it has already encrypted/decrypted. -Added installation for PPC (hope it works now, I have no PPC) -Fixed Requester Sizes for the PPC-Versions (Please give me a note if it doesnt work out!) -Web-address changed to http://www.lambrecht.de/windowsce.html -Sorry about some version conflicts: Cryptfile is version 0.9h from 25.03.1999 Decryptfile is version 0.9i from 11.04.1999 desauto is version 0.9i from 11.04.1999 (This will be fixed in the next release!) Open and known things: desauto normally works fine. It waits in the background when you are editing/ viewing the file. If you close the editor/viewer, it will check the file for changes and will re-crypt the file. There only one thing that is really bad. If you have already opened a Pocket-Word-Window and you open a des-file with a Pocket-Word-File, everything goes wrong! This is I think because Microsoft kills the new started thread after they find out that already one instance is there. So, I conclude of this, that the application has been terminated, and try to delete the original file. You get an errormessage! However when you have no instances of the program started that will be started by desauto, everything works fine. I am thinking of a solution, if somebody has a good tip, please let me know! Crypt/Decrypt are not working on Win95/98, I dont know yet why. However they work under WinNT. (??????)
